Being a former religious studies major (currently pursuing a minor), religion has always been a fascination of mine. Pursuing this minor also helps me “escape” from the World of Glass Hall from time to time. After doing some research about religion in Vietnam, I found some surprising statistics that I was not expecting to find. Out of a population of 90 million, only 24 million citizens of the country identify with a major form of organized religion. This means that 66 million citizens in the country either do not identify with any particular religion at all, or they subscribe to a “folk” belief. Christianity accounts for less than 10 percent of the population, while Buddhism just barely accounts for more than 10 percent, coming in at 12.2% I hope to learn more about other religions in the country that I have never been exposed to while adventuring in the city. It will prove very beneficial, I think, to learn the relationship between the business world and the many uncommon religions of the country.
