Today Kristina and I booked a tour to see the city of Da Lat. The tour ended up being us and a bunch of Vietnamese people, and it actually ended up being a lot of fun!
We visited King Boa’s (the last king of Vietnam) palace. It was weird because it really didn’t seem that nice. It’s all about comparison though because it was considered nice for the time and place.
After that, we went to ride a cable car in order to take in the wonderful views of Da Lat. It was really cool, and absolutely gorgeous… until the cable car stalled. Needless to say, we were sitting there not moving for 30 minutes. At least the view was good! When we got off our guide said she’d never had it stall and thought it must be because of us being there. It may be our fault, but oh well, we survived.
We did several other things including tasting tea that’s made from artichoke, which I ended up loving. We also went to a place that preserves the local flowers.
One of the big stops was a place called Love Valley, which has tons and tons of flowers, a lake, and plenty of places to take pictures. Of course, it’s geared toward couples, but we still managed to have a lot of fun and make good use of our selfie sticks!
Overall, it was a great day and I’m glad to have come to Da Lat instead of staying in Ho Chi Minh City. Also, the weather is fantastic (other than a bit of rain) and the air is so clear and easy to breathe!
