Our last day in Vietnam was definitely a long one. We started the trip with a very cool tour of Saigon brewery. The brewery was huge and it was so neat to see how the beer is transformed from malt into the final product. We even got to sample some beer, which was a nice treat. We then headed to the site for project Vietnam. I didn’t know what to expect when we arrived, but when we walked in I was taken aback. Seeing all of those abandoned children with brain defects was extremely sad. Going up to the second floor and seeing the children that were immobile was hard to stomach. The views from this experience are things that I will never forget.
We headed to the cu chi tunnels after project Vietnam and these tunnels were awesome. It’s crazy how smart the Vietcong were when designing the tunnels. It was also so cool to see all of the different traps that the Vietnamese people had used. The highlight of the day though was shooting the huge guns. Most of us including myself shot the M-30 and it was such a cool experience. I’ve never shot a gun that size and that powerful, but thank god it was mounted otherwise it might have knocked me over.
