The Cu Chi Tunnels. A place not designed for tall Americans like me. Just because I am tall, did not stop me from getting down and dirty to experience what the Viet Cong lived in during the Vietnam/American War. Nestled deep the the Vietnamese Jungle, a place where you can’t see 20 yards in either direction due to the thick foliage, the Cu Chi Tunnels lay, among the craters that remain from us bombs, which were dropped on the Viet Cong. I had been looking forward to this day for the whole trip, because I really like to see the way that they lived, and it is quite amazing how the could spend days are a time down below ground. During a brief presentation the host said that the tunnels took 20 years to dig, and was done entirely by the Cu Chi Viet Cong, but according the Bao, a student from Troy University said that was a lie, and that the Chinese and Russians played a large part in digging those tunnels. They were definitely not designed for someone who the is 6 foot 6. Check it off the list, because I am not going in there again, way to tight . Until next time
