Sorry for the terrible pun. Da Lat has been pretty incredible. Today, we decided to rent a motor scooter and ride around before we had to go to the airport. Unlike Ho Chi Minh City, the traffic is actually manageable. While there were a few times when I didn’t exactly feel safe, it was really enjoyable.
We started off by going to have weasel coffee at a coffee farm. It was cool to see the weasels and hear about the process of feeding, collecting, fermenting, cleaning, and roasting. The coffee was really expensive, but it was really good if you could get past the poop factor.
After that, we rode our rented motorbike back to the city center. We walked around the market there which has different levels for different types of goods.
After getting some Pho for lunch, we spent a couple of hours just driving around the city seeing the sights. At one point, we got out of the main city and were in an area with tons of greenhouses. Looking out across the valley and seeing it all was breathtaking. It was interesting to see how dependent their economy is on agriculture.
We then had to go back to the airport to catch our flight back to Ho Chi Minh City. The visit to Da Lat was too short, and I’ll probably be back at somepoint!
