We started the day off by driving for what seemed like forever toward the middle of the island. Other than driving, the first thing we did was go to a garden that sells a variety of fruit as well as tourist items. Some of the fruit was odd, while others were absolutely delicious. I stood at one stall sampling a variety for quite a while. I loved every bite (save the durian).
After that, we ate at a Balinese buffet for lunch. The food was pretty good although I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the spice flavors in the dishes. Still, it was really nice to try a variety of food!
Right after lunch, we visited the Beratan temple which sits on a lake between some small mountains. It’s a really pretty Hindu temple that’s built out on the lake. We walked around all of the portions we were allowed to and took plenty of pictures!
Then, we were off to a different temple. We went to Tanah Lot which overlooks the Indian ocean. While you can’t actually go up to the temple, there are a lot of gorgeous spots around it to see. I loved just watching the waves crash against the rocks below the temple. We spent quite a bit of time there and stated to watch the sunset over the ocean.
It was a good day, but it was also a really long day!
