Leaving Hualien was sad to me because I love natural sights. However, I also love the culture sights in Taipei. As promise, I got together with my friends after I got to Taipei by train, and we spent a great day together. One of the friends, Tim happened to have a car so he could drive us around, so we went to the Ruifang District.
It took us an hour to drive there, and we went to the longly road on top of the mountain. When we got to the top, it was foggy and the road was narrow and has a lot of curves. There was a couple taking wedding pictures and college graduates taking graduation pictures. We were just there taking tourist pictures. Then we got down a little bit and saw the old factory buildings left by the Japanese invaders. Those mineral factories left their waste in the near sea, so there were two colors at the bay. It’s also called Yi Yang Sea. After that, we went to Jiufen, which was just a little old market among those houses. We went up and down on the stairs. The street in the market was very narrow and busy. There were stores for snacks and souviners. We had some YuYan and left early because Teddy has to work the morning shift.
We arrived at my hotel around about nine because we caught on the routine traffic. There was a night market right by my hotel so we had dinner there. We had stinky tofu and some BBQ meat.
It was a fun day exploring.
