Today was quite the action packed day! I woke up early and had breakfast at 6:30 like usual and changed into pants and a T-shirt as we would be embarking on a city wide tour! Our guide was named Son and our first destination was a pagoda near the West Lake! The architecture was beautiful and was unlike anything I had seen before. After an hour we headed back to the transport bus and it was then I realized how hot the weather had become… unfortunately our bus didn’t have the greatest air conditioning so driving was a bit suffocating. We then headed to Ho Chi Ming’s residence and government buildings. I found this to be quite the treat as I remember studying the Vietnam War in elementary school and now I was actually seeing his body in person! After exploring the grounds we headed off to lunch! Lunch consisted of various local cuisines and was very tasty! The next place we visited was the museum of enology which was very short but detailed the various ethnic groups in Vietnam! We then headed to another temple/pagoda which was based around Confucius and also featured the turtle which is a scared animal in Vietnam. We went back to the hotel where we each rode on a cart cycle to a water puppet show! Tomorrow we are heading to Bangkok!
