Today we all took a trip out to The Great Barrier Reef. It was a long day but well worth it. I decided not to dive. However, I got some really great snorkeling in and took a guided tour with the marine biologist Mickie while we were there. During the guided tour we got to see jellies, a cuddle fish, a napoleon rass, parrot fish, little nemos, and a variety of corals to name a few. We also got to see the effects of coral bleaching and discussed the importance of corals in an ecosystem. This was a great experience for me and I’m excited to go back home to share what I’ve learned with professors and peers. Also I attached a picture from today’s adventure in all of the snorkeling gear!
