On Friday, Nov. 22, the theatre and dance department will produce two abbreviated afternoon performances of Romeo and Juliet for an audience of regional, middle school students, as part of the AGC Program. The performances will entail a cutting (3-4 scenes) from the play including the famed “Queen Mab” scene, the even more widely known balcony scene, and an exciting broadsword fight between Mercutio and Tybalt.
Following the performance the middle school students will have an opportunity to ask questions of the cast and production team.
Kurt Heinlein, associate professor of theatre, is serving as production director. “It’s an honor and privilege that we were asked to participate in this initiative with the Kennedy Center AGC Program,” said Heinlein.
