“Just because the curtains close, doesn’t mean the show is over. The curtain has to close to set up for the next scene. Get ready.”

With all of the genuine care in the world, we are proud to announce and congratulate the Spring 2020 graduates from our Theatre Studies programs! We have four seniors who have dedicated their education and have striven in the performance field to inspire those around them. From performing, to writing, to directing, and more, each graduate has made an impact in our department and at Missouri State University. They have truly been through so many foundational changes and witnessed the shaping of where we are now, but with every change, they have adapted and excelled to become stronger, smarter, more confident people. We could not be more overjoyed to congratulate the following seniors: Mariah Crawford, Von’Tazia Guthrie, Roland Netzer, and David Struckman.
Each of them is graduating with a Bachelors in Theatre Studies with Roland Netzer additionally graduating with a Minor in Psychology and David Struckman with a Minor in Sociology.
They have shared their favorite memories from their time here that includes bonding with castmates during productions, developing new and personal ideas into reality, and watching themselves, their peers, and the department grow into so much more than it ever has been previously.
They would like to give an all-encompassing and gratitude-filled “thank you” to those who took part in these special years of their lives. The support from friends, family, and faculty will forever mean the world to them, and they could not have gotten here without you.
Together, Mariah, Von’Tazie, Roland, and David are the next generation of leaders in the theatrical world leaving Missouri State University with their heads held and the world at their feet. We wish you the best of luck out there, graduates. Wherever life takes you, know that you have a forever-home in the hearts of those you’ve touched and the university you helped create magic.
The Theatre and Dance Department will not be the same without you.
