“Laura is one of the most empathetic, supportive, and kind-hearted students in the Theatre and Dance Department.”
This week’s Student Spotlight is over the incredible and sweet Laura Frost!

Laura is a senior in the Bachelor of Science in Speech and Theatre Education program. Her work includes directing Disney’s the Aristocats Kids with the Springfield Little Theatre Education Center, assistant directing shows with Springfield Little Theatre, and most recently the one-act Playwriting 101: The Rooftop Lesson as part of the Department of Theatre and Dance’s Directing II class. This is her last semester on Missouri State’s campus before she starts an exciting new chapter in a teaching practicum in the spring. She already has such an incredible array of directing experience under her belt that there is no doubt she will be of the utmost inspiration to future casts and students.
Outside of her work and career, Laura is recognized and idealized for her empathy, compassion, and generosity towards others. Her friends stated “She frequently goes out of her way to help other students and makes sure they are on the best path for success, both academically and personally. Laura’s compassion also extends towards other groups in the community, such as her adult dance troupe and children’s theatre camps at S.L.T.”
Congratulations Laura on all of your personal and academic successes! You have been this week’s Student Spotlight.
