The 2021 academic year is getting ready to start!!! That’s right, Bears; the new semester is just around the corner, and we cannot wait to see all of you again after summer break.
We are, of course, going to kick things off this fall with our annual student welcome events this Sunday, August 22nd. Each program will have its own meeting during the afternoon that will be organized by each program’s coordinator. All meetings will be held within Craig Hall, and your program head will be in contact with you about the specific time and room number. Please contact them if you have any questions.
The whole Department of Theatre and Dance will have it’s meeting from 6:00-6:30pm in Coger Theatre. Masks will be required.
We also have a special message from our Department Head, Joe Price-
I think we were all expecting a return to normal by this point. However, we do have more tools to help us to manage COVID. I would encourage all of you to get vaccinated. At the moment, it seems to be the best tool in our fight against the virus. We’ll be providing COVID guidelines for classes and productions for the fall. We anticipate being able to move forward with our production season, though there could be some adjustments. We know that we’ll need to adhere to the MSU mask policy that will be in place until September 17. It is likely that we will continue testing casts and crews until further notice.
I’m confident in our ability as a Theatre and Dance community to care for one another during these challenging times. We did some amazingly creative things last year, and I’m confident that we will do the same this year. We’re looking forward to an ambitious production season, amazing guest artists, our NEW JOHN GOODMAN AMPHITHEATER, and to work with you in the classroom.
SEE YOU SUNDAY!
Be well,
Joseph Price
Get ready, Bears! Another year of excitement is about to begin.
