This week’s Student Spotlight is over the passionate and fabulous Ashlee Finke!

Ashlee Finke is a junior B.S. Theatre major and English minor here at Missouri State University. Some of her credits include participating as a writer and model for Sartorial magazine on campus, dramaturg for the upcoming T&D Department’s production of Men on Boats, and Associate Artistic Director for Laboratory Theatre Company’s 2022-23 season. Outside of MSU, Ashlee works as a Speech Communication tutor at Ozarks Technical Community College, where she has been described as “a reliable employee, coworker, and friend.”
Ashlee has a never-ending supply of motivation, always finding time to balance her work, school, and home life.
When asked about her character, her peers had a lot to say about Ashlee’s communication skills, and her positive attitude towards others. When commenting on her work ethic, one peer described Ashlee by saying she “handles everything with finesse and is always on time.” Another stated that Ashlee “is amazing at creating an environment where people feel comfortable and loved.” With her busy schedule, Ashlee is always able to keep a kind heart, and address every situation with good-natured judgment.
Outside of school and work, “you would mostly likely find [Ashlee] sipping on some iced coffee with her nose in a book.” When around others, her peers expressed that Ashlee “never fails to make me laugh with her silly humor” and “her energy radiates positivity that’s infectious to be around.” A trait many strive to have, and it looks like Ashlee has more than exceeded it.
It looks like Ashlee has made a positive impact on many of her coworkers and peers. One friend finished by saying that “I hope to continue watching her grow into such a wonderful person.” What a lovely sentiment!
Congratulations, Ashlee, on all of your academic and personal success. We can’t wait to see the hard work you put into the department this year.
