“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.” – Oscar Wilde
We here in the Missouri State T&D Department are beyond excited for our last two productions of the season, In Vain, and Spring Dance Concert: Art in Motion. The department is providing something a little different for these two productions; a very special opportunity taking place at the end of certain performances. A talk back will be hosted for each production, taking place at the end of one night of each of the performances.
According to the Los Angeles Times, “for theaters, the talkback can connect the venue to its audience, deepen understanding of the work and make the audience feel more like a participant and not merely an observer.” To participate in these talk backs, giving you the chance to voice your ideas about the subject matter and connect more with the members of the show, the In Vain talk back will take place after its Friday show, while the Spring Dance Concert: Art in Motion talk back will take place after its Sunday show, approximately fifteen minutes after the conclusion of each performance.
These talk backs will be held by a panel of special guests as well as members of the cast and dance company. It is a truly special experience that audience members should consider taking. We hope to see you there!
