English website markets to future authors and educators

The english redesign was completed as part of the Academic Website Project, which strives to enhance academic websites for use in recruitment efforts.

Department of English siteKey features of the newly designed website include the following:

  • Clearly breaks down different programs
    This department houses more than nine unique programs with very different career outcomes. The options to choose the correct program are clearly shown on the homepage navigation.
  • Showcases student opportunities
    The website shows how the program extends beyond the classroom by providing a directory of student organizations, publications, events and conferences.

Several university relations offices assisted the english department in developing this site:

  • Staff lead: Don Hendricks, university communications director
  • Content development: Stacey Funderburk, publications director, with assistance from Karen Culp and Linda Harvey, publications graduate assistants
  • Design: Abby Isackson, publications graphic designer, with assistance from Aimee Pong, student graphic designer
  • Website implementation: Brad Fortenberry, Nathanael Bassett and Brittany Dilts, web and new media student workers, with oversight by Brad Mitchell, new media producer
