As the fall semester nears its end, November is a great time to recognize your unit’s achievements – and achievers. From presentations and publications to competitions and service projects, take time this month to recognize your newsmakers.
The fall is a busy time for conferences, competitions and publications! Our faculty and students have represented the department of XXX throughout the region, bringing home recognitions in the following:
- List conference presentations, awards, etc.
- OR highlight one specific achiever or event
November is also a great time to give thanks. Does your area have an unsung hero? Feature him or her in a post highlighting his or her work to better your area.
Blogging tip
Add visual interest to your blog post by incorporating photos. If highlighting a specific person or group, incorporate a photo of them. If you don’t have access to an image of that person, a collection of select marketing photos are available for free through the Marketing Toolkit.
Remember, a clear picture taken with a cell phone or a point-and-shoot digital camera is a great option, too!
Points of pride
Your blog is a fantastic way to showcase the points of pride for your department – the things that make you great! For November, consider highlighting:
- Number of awards won this year
- Number of faculty members with terminal degrees
- Number of publications
- Number of students conducting or presenting original research
- Number of hours volunteered by students and faculty
Looking forward
