Dr. Wenping Qiu, research professor and director of the Center for Grapevine Biotechnology at the William H. Darr School of Agriculture on the Missouri State University Mountain Grove campus, was named one of the top 100 talents by the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Provincial Government of China.
“This is an amazing and wonderful award for Wenping and is another example of a Missouri State University faculty member earning international recognition for their research,” said Dr. Tammy Jahnke, dean of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences at Missouri State.
The award is based on Qiu’s academic achievements and competence in the generation of virus-free plants and virus detection in the State Key Laboratory of Seedling Bioengineering in Ningxia, China. Qiu was also chosen due to his significant efforts in promoting cooperation and collaboration in research and education in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
