Two Biology graduate students won awards at the recent meeting of the Missouri Chapter of the American Society for Microbiology in St. Louis, Missouri. Both students are advised by Dr. Kyoungtae Kim.
Erin Murphy, 1st place oral presentation: Murphy, E., E. Kapustka, S.J. Lee, D. Gilliam and K. Kim. Disruption of plasma membrane components affects eisome localization.
Josh Hayden, 2nd place, oral presentation: Hayden, J., C. Highfill, B. Tenay and K. Kim. VPS1’S role in endosomal trafficking.
Biology graduate student Megan Bradley won the first place Best Student Presentation Award at the biennial symposium of the Freshwater Mollusk Conservation Society, which met in Louisville, Kentucky
Biology graduate student Mitch East received a grant from Sigma Xi for his proposal entitled “Diet of Macrochelys Temminickii and Graptemys Ouachitensis in Eastern Oklahoma.” East is advised by Dr. Day Ligon.
