COE Budget Committee Membership
The membership will include two faculty from each department. Department heads will be ex-officio members, and the dean will chair the committee. Meetings are open, but only members can vote. (COE Budget Committee Minutes 8/17/2012)
Program Support
The fund that was originally set up to support the SAHE program is renamed “Program Support Fund” and will be used to support all programs and faculty requests and other uses as approved by the dean. (COE Budget Committee Minutes 8/17/2012)
Study Away Requests
If the request is less than $500 per student, the dean may approve. If the request exceeds $500 per student, then it would require a two-thirds vote of approval by the Faculty Advisory Committee. (COE Budget Committee Minutes 2/20/2013)
Faculty Research
A fund for faculty research equivalent to 30% of the Program Support fund will be established and maintained as monies allow. (COE Budget Committee Meeting Minutes 2/20/2013)
Study Away/International Travel
If the request for Study Away is less than $500 per student, the dean may approve. If the request exceeds $500 per student, then it would require a two-thirds vote of approval by the Faculty Advisory Committee. Extra Compensation / Program Coordinator
The same pay rate will be used for extra compensation for program coordination, fellows, et al appointments as is used for Per Course. Re-assigned time may be used instead of compensation upon approval by the department head and dean. (COE Budget Committee Meeting Minutes 3/22/2013)
Project Support
A fund may be established for project support with the dean given authority to provide one-time startup funds for special projects requested by faculty. (COE Budget Committee Minutes 9/3/2013)
Counselors/Students to Campus
COE may fund the C2C program, with the provision that the dean will seek funding support from other sources, i.e. colleges, Provost Office. (COE Budget Committee Minutes 2/21/2014)
Personnel Needs
The COE LC will review all requests for new positions. Departments will submit prioritized needs and requests for personnel to the LC. Requests will also be reviewed by the Faculty Advisory Council, and the COE Budget Committee. The COE Budget Committee will approve general use of funds for faculty positions. The results of the Faculty Advisory Committee and Budget Committee will be forwarded to the Leadership Council for final decision. (COE Budget Committee Minutes 3/21/2014)
Summer Research for New Faculty
The COE Research Start-Up Support fund will provide a $6,000 summer stipend during a new faculty member’s first academic year of service* for faculty who are in tenure-track, 9-month appointments. Faculty will receive a $3,000 stipend at the end of July and an additional $3,000 stipend following the receipt of an acceptable report, which will be due before September 15th. (4/3/2014)
Computer Replacement

Marketing, Recruitment & Retention
COE will hold a joint conference with the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Each university will take turns hosting the event. The BC will identify funds in support of this initiative. (COE Budget Committee Meeting Minutes 6/27/2014)
Per Course Pay
The range of pay for Per Course instructors will be $815 per credit hour for master’s degrees, $915 per credit hour for terminal degrees, and up to $1,200 per credit hour for Ph.D.s and research active per course faculty holding Ed.D.s deemed rigorous. New Faculty Participation in Service Activities
When funds are not available from professional organizations or academic departments, the Dean’s may provide support for faculty working toward tenure to participate in state, regional, national and international professional organizations. (COE Budget Committee Minutes 9/25/2015)
Staff Travel and Professional Development
When funds are available, COE staff may request support for travel by making a written request to their immediate supervisor and the Dean. (COE Budget Committee Minutes 9/25/2015)
Student Travel
When funds are available academic departments and/or the Dean’s Office may provide support for undergraduate and graduate student travel. To be eligible, students must present peer reviewed scholarly / research papers to professional organizations at the local, state, regional, or national level. Students must be sponsored by a faculty member who agrees to oversee the student’s work and travel. Applications for student travel support should be made by individual students to the faculty member who will then present the request to the department and/or College. Funds to support student travel will come from the Program Support budget and will not exceed $200 per student per trip by the department or College, for a combined maximum of $400 per student per trip, should both the department and COE each choose to provide maximum funding. Student Teaching Supervision Stipends
