Submit Nominations for the Curtis P. Lawrence Award for Excellence in Advising
In recognition for outstanding academic advising, the annual Curtis P. Lawrence Award for Excellence in Advising honors one faculty advisor and one staff advisor during the spring semester. Nominations are due November 30, 2021.

Inside Higher Ed, Administrative Holds: Aiding or Preventing Student Persistence?
Cole and Fulton write, “While we’re encouraged by the hard work underway to reform hold policies that often create barriers to student success, our analysis suggests that policy and postsecondary leaders would be well served by developing a deeper understanding of the complexity of the administrative hold landscape. By building a more nuanced understanding of the origins and impacts of administrative holds on students, these leaders and practitioners will be more effective in reviewing and revising those policies that may not support students and often reinforce inequities.”

Transfer Advising Committee
The Transfer Advising Committee works in cooperation with Transfer Council and the Provost’s Academic Advising Council to develop best practices for transfer advising, facilitate communication regarding transfer student issues, and offer professional development for transfer advisors.
