2023 COTA Conference

Registration for the 2023 COTA Conference ends on February 9. The annual COTA Conference is scheduled for Friday, February 24th in Jefferson City MO at the Truman State Office Building, to run from 9am-3pm. This is an in-person session and we have an amazing line up of speakers and panelists this year! Our keynote address will be given by Lindenwood University’s Dr. Joe Sallustio: A New Era of Higher Education. Sallustio is one of our nation’s foremost higher education experts. He has led a broad range of educational institutions, giving him a unique and effective breadth of knowledge in on-ground and online higher education administration. Joe holds an EdD in organizational leadership from Northcentral University, an MS in organizational leadership from Regis University, and a BS in speech communications from SUNY Oneonta. Sallustio is also co-founder and host of The EdUp Experience, the nation’s leading higher education podcast. Early after its founding, the EdUp Experience Podcast introduced its President Series and gave voice to what’s happening at the very top of the industry – how problems are solved, how students are served in new ways, how institutional visions are giving way to a collective re-envisioning of the entire industry. Additionally, the Conference will feature a variety of sessions, with a clear focus on ways to welcome back stopped-out students with a General Studies Diploma option, and how Transfer Centers can ease the burdens of student transitions between institutions. Further, we will have three panel discussions led by top level university administrators to cover topics including Academic Advising and orientation, Admissions and articulation, and Missouri’s CORE42 and Reverse Transfer Programs. Another highlight of our Conference will be having Karen Solomon and Jeff Rosen from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) talk with us about emergent trends in the accreditation process and how institutions and students can benefit from these changes. If you are joining us from out of town, the Courtyard by Marriott has offered a significant discount on a block of rooms, just mention COTA 2023 when making your reservation. Jefferson City, Missouri’s capitol city, has lots of over visitors, so that you will be able to make fun weekend plans. Check out the attractions at www.visitjeffersoncity.com, for details. Cost to attend is only $50. A Grab n Go Breakfast and Lunch are included for participants who register before the deadline.
