You Can Help a Student!
Attend the “You Can Help a Student!” training to learn more about supporting students struggling with mental health concerns, including how and where to refer students when necessary. This 120-minute session uses interaction and conversations to teach audience members actionable ways they can support students in distress. Inside Higher Ed, Making Transfer Work for Rural Students and Communities
“Too often, transfer demands that rural students leave their communities to continue their education.” Gelsey Mehl and their team at the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program spoke with leaders and administrators from rural community colleges, tribal colleges and four-year schools to identify three lessons that ensure transfer pathways meet the needs of rural students and communities.

How to Create a Transfer-Centered Website
The National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS) partnered with mStoner to conduct a year-long research project exploring the ideal transfer website. The result of their study is a comprehensive transfer website strategy guide that details best practices and tools for creating and maintaining a transfer-friendly site that addresses students’ top concerns and paves the way for a smooth transition. In reading the guide, you’ll learn:
- Why transfer students need web content developed specifically for them
- What a transfer-centered content strategy should include
- How to plan improvements for your current transfer website

Transfer Advising Committee
The Transfer Advising Committee works in cooperation with Transfer Council and the Provost’s Academic Advising Council to develop best practices for transfer advising, facilitate communication regarding transfer student issues, and offer professional development for transfer advisors.
