Three Missouri State art history students have been chosen to present research at the 11th Annual Art History Symposium. The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on April 7 at the Springfield Art Museum.
Who will present at the symposium
The MSU students include:
- Paige Whitcomb, “Analyzing the Melun Diptych: An Examination of Jean Fouquet’s Style”
- Amanda Horned, “The Pink Project and the Application of Feminist and Gender Theory”
- Chaney Jewell, “Austrian Orientalism: Remaking the Schonbrunn Palace”
The speakers from Drury are:

How students are selected
Every year in the spring semester, MSU and Drury University each choose three advanced art history students to give 15- to 20-minute presentations on his or her research.
Faculty select student speakers from a group of competitive proposals. The faculty then guide the students in developing oral presentations for the symposium.

Posters from five art history and museum studies students and alumni will also be on display in Brick City’s west gallery this summer.
The works are from a recent poster session these students participated in for the Missouri Archaeology Society 2016 Annual Spring Meeting. The poster session, “Conservation and Research of Art and Artifacts,” was organized and chaired by Dr. Billie Follensbee, an MSU art history professor.
The exhibit will be up late from May through August 2016. It includes works from:
