Who will present at the symposium

The MSU students include:

  • Paige Whitcomb, “Analyzing the Melun Diptych: An Examination of Jean Fouquet’s Style”
  • Amanda Horned, “The Pink Project and the Application of Feminist and Gender Theory”
  • Chaney Jewell, “Austrian Orientalism: Remaking the Schonbrunn Palace”

The speakers from Drury are:

  • Chanel Deschamps, “Shaping Renaissance Florence’s Identity Through Devotion to Marian Miraculous Images”
  • Olivia Snell, “Bernini at the Borghese”

How students are selected

Every year in the spring semester, MSU and Drury University each choose three advanced art history students to give 15- to 20-minute presentations on his or her research.

Faculty select student speakers from a group of competitive proposals. The faculty then guide the students in developing oral presentations for the symposium.
