Family Connection

Bears L.E.A.D (Leadership, Empowerment, Achievement, and Diversity)

November 10, 2017 by Priscilla Childress

Bears L.E.A.D (Leadership, Empowerment, Achievement, and Diversity) is a new initiative, created out of MSU’s commitment to a welcoming environment for all students, that serves as a year-long program uniquely designed for first year students who are historically underrepresented, first generation college students, received ACT scores below 24, or are Pell Grant eligible. Our current recruitment efforts have been focused on students who may be struggling academically after receiving midterm grades. Bears L.E.A.D. provides students with opportunities to connect with faculty and staff through monthly topical meetings, meet other incoming students through fun events, and get to know the MSU and Springfield community through community service.

Any questions can be directed to the Bears L.E.A.D Coordinator, Mariah Greer at MariahGreer@missouristate.edu or 417-836-4313.
