Hi everyone!
I hope everyone who came down for family weekend had a great time! It was awesome seeing all of you! If I had a dollar for every “Momma Bear” and “Papa Bear” shirt I saw I would be able to pay off the rest of my tuition.
Now that all that fun is over, it is time for your student to prepare for their midterms. Not every student will have a “midterm” necessarily, but this is usually the time professors like to hold tests for their courses. Midterms are sort of like a practice final. It gives your student an overlook at what they have learned in the class up to this point to see if they can apply it to a test.
Most students will find it hard to try and fit in all of the material to study for the test. It is important for family members to motivate your students to get ahead of the game when it comes to studying. Even though you might not be there to help them with their studies, sending an encouraging text message or maybe setting up a FaceTime call will help them and give them confidence going into the test.
Midterms will happen throughout the next two weeks which means students will most likely be done with them before Fall break. If your student is coming home for Fall break, plan, after talking to your student about what they would like to do, some activities to help relieve that post-test taking stress they might get.
