November is the month where students at Missouri State begin to register for their classes for the spring semester. This time will be a huge milestone in your student’s career because they will be registering on their own, without the help of a SOAR leader. However, they won’t be doing the whole process alone. Freshmen and sophomores are required to meet with their academic advisor to go over requirements and different courses they can take. After that your student will go to Trial Schedule Builder in their my.missouristate.edu account to create their very own schedule for the spring!
Registration can be a struggle for some students and that is totally okay! Trying to decide what courses to take can be stressful, but there are many resources out there for your student. They can look up different 4-year plans on their my.missouristate.edu that can guide them along in the process.
Their advisor is their best resource. They know exactly what your student is going to need to do in order to graduate from MSU! They will help your student on their path to success. If they have any questions about registration, they shouldn’t be afraid to contact their advisor!
Make sure you have the conversations with your student about the process. Ultimately, it is up to your student to submit the classes they want to take. However, you can help your student feel confident in their decision making by supporting them throughout the process.
Family members are our biggest supporters so having you guys on our side helps us out a lot!
Good luck with registration!
