Dear Courtney, Max, Mathile, Hannah, Taylor, Lucian,
LOOK at this snow!
Living in Springfield has had its ups and downs—but it’s nice to live somewhere that actually has a winter! I mean, I think that I’m reaching the point where I’m starting to get annoyed by it, but snow still has this magic. It totally transforms everything. I live on the second floor of my building, so sometimes I wake up and look out the window to see tree branches covered with fresh snow and I get giddy.
Here’s a picture of all of us when it snowed in Baton Rouge. Do you remember that night? It was during our junior year and we were in the studio all night working on our portfolios. We were all so stressed about it because they were going to rank us based on how well we put them together. I think I got there around 8 that night, but some people were still arriving around midnight. And then around 3 in the morning, when we were all getting delirious, it started snowing! We all decided to take a break just to mess around. Then we came back, got to work for a few more hours, and the around 5 or 6 when the sun starting coming up, we went outside and took this picture.
I hope that everyone is happy and finding ways to do what they love! Even though we all graduated with a degree in graphic design, there are a few of us that followed a different path. I’m working on my student affairs degree, but I’m still trying to find time to do art and get involved with the art community here. I’m really grateful for the years that we spent together, I want to check in with all of you soon!
