5 W’s of the Majors Fair – September 29th

September 26, 2022 by Priscilla Childress

What happens when “What do you want to be when you grow up?” becomes “What is your major?”  Both can be challenging questions to answer – especially since the answer does not have to be the same for both questions, and it usually isn’t.  Students can gather information to help with these questions (and many others) at the Majors Fair.

 WHAT is the Majors Fair?

Majors Fair 2022 – a gathering of academic departments from across campus showcasing their undergraduate major, minor, and certificate offerings plus representation from the Bear CLAW (Center for Learning & Writing), the Career Center, the Center for Academic Success & Transition (CAST), and Citizenship & Service Learning (CASL).

 WHEN is the Majors Fair?

Thursday, September 29, 2022 – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

 WHERE is the Majors Fair?

Plaster Student Union Ballroom (Room 300)

WHO should attend the Majors Fair?

All students, regardless of year in school or declared/undeclared major status

 WHY attend the Majors Fair?

It’s a great time to explore the degree programs offered at Missouri State, not just for our Undeclared students, but also for those who might need or want a minor (or second major) or those who want to add to their educational credentials with one or more of our undergraduate certificates.

It’s a great time for students with declared majors to meet representatives from their Department and College.

Attendees also have the opportunity to win Early Registration, moving their registration to the start of the registration sequence for Spring 2023 registration.

It’s a fun, relaxed atmosphere where students can find answers to their questions from departments across campus in one place.  It’s one-stop shopping for information.
