Family Connection

BEAR Box @ Missouri State University – A Student-Curated Care Package Service – Run by Students. Built for Bears. Backed by Experience.

June 11, 2025 by Priscilla Childress

🌟 Our Story: Born in the Heart of Campus

It started as a class assignment… and became a passion project.

In the Spring of 2022, a group of business students at Missouri State University were tasked with creating a business model from scratch. Inspired by our own experiences — late-night cramming, homesick weekends, and missing mom’s cookies — we thought:

What if care packages came from right here on campus?

And so, BEAR Box was born — a nod to our beloved mascot and a reminder that no student should feel forgotten, especially during the toughest weeks of the semester.

But this isn’t just about snacks and school supplies. It’s about creating connections.

Each BEAR Box is student-built, student-run, and student-loved. Every box you send supports student leaders, empowers entrepreneurship, and brings joy to Bears across campus.

🎁 What’s Inside a BEAR Box?

Six themed care packages per year — three each semester:

  • 📦 Delivery Schedule:
    • Welcome Box – First 2 weeks of semester
    • Mid-semester boost
    • Finals week survival kit – Final 2 weeks of semester
  • 👕 Items vary by season and may include:
    • MSU gear (tumblers, hoodies, t-shirts, hats) – Something new every time!
    • Snacks & wellness items
    • School spirit swag
  • 💵 Price: $300 per academic year
(That’s just $50 per box — less than one campus pizza night!)
