The Duane G. Meyer Library at Missouri State University is more than just a collection of books. It is a place where curiosity grows, ideas develop, and knowledge leads to new opportunities. Whether you want a quiet spot to reflect on or resources to help with research, the library offers an environment where learning goes beyond the classroom. Here, you can pause, explore, ask questions, and grow, one page and one idea at a time.
Space to Learn, Create, and Connect
What I appreciate about Duane G. Meyer Library is that it offers much more than just books. It gives students a variety of spaces and resources to support the way they learn and work.
The library offers both private and group study rooms, so you can find a space that works for you. If you need a quiet spot for an assignment, a private area to practice a presentation, or a room to meet with classmates, there are plenty of choices. Meyer Library has 17 small study rooms, 10 group study rooms, and many individual tables and study carrels.
I also find the equipment-lending service very helpful. Students can borrow Dell laptops, MacBook Airs, iPads, Apple Pencils, calculators, cameras, microphones, headphones, chargers, projectors, and other tech devices.
The library also gives you access to computers, research databases, academic journals, books, and research help. Students can use Bear CLAW for tutoring and writing support, and research librarians can guide you through research assignments and academic resources.
What I value most is its convenience. As a student, you can walk into one building and find a place to study, use technology, do research, get academic support, and borrow resources that help you get your work done. To me, Meyer Library is what a university resource should be. It is not just a place that stores knowledge, but a place that gives students the tools to create, explore, and succeed.
