Sometimes we are called to make a difference locally; sometimes we are called abroad.
Dr. Alanna Flath Bree, Missouri State University biology and chemistry alumna, felt her impact wasn’t enough in the United States. She worked at a clinic as a pediatric dermatologist until she wondered how she could better use her talent.
She decided to try mission work in Kenya and Tanzania.
There she found her passion: helping children with skin diseases and birthmarks, especially albinism.
This mission work led her to open A Children’s House for Pediatric Dermatology. After the initial calling eight years ago, she recently published a book on her adventures.
“A Children’s House: A Little Story about a God-Sized Dream” hit the stands Jan. 23.
Congratulations on being published Dr. Bree!
