Greatest accomplishment and career path
“My greatest accomplishment has been finding a family- and community-oriented company whose values and goals align with my own, allowing me to grow professionally while contributing meaningfully to the construction industry. As a Preconstruction Manager, I take pride in building strong client relationships, developing accurate budgets, and guiding our clients’ projects from concept to reality. Looking ahead, my career path is focused on continuing to strengthen my leadership within preconstruction and evolving into a broader operational role where I can help shape strategy, mentor others, and further our company’s commitment to quality and community.”
How MSU equipped Eric for his Career
“MSU’s Technology and Construction Management department provided a strong foundation that directly prepared me for my career. The combination of technical coursework, hands-on experience, and collaboration with both faculty and industry professionals gave me the practical knowledge to succeed in a fast-paced industry. The program emphasized teamwork, communication, and real-world application — all of which have been essential in my role as a Preconstruction Manager.”
Advice for current students and recent graduates
“My advice to current students and recent graduates is to make and maintain meaningful relationships within the industry — those connections often open doors and shape your career in ways you don’t expect. Don’t be afraid to take opportunities, even if they’re not exactly what you envisioned; every experience adds value and perspective. Always act with integrity and treat others the way you would want to be treated — a principle rooted in Luke 6:31. Be of service to those around you, as success in this field often depends on teamwork and trust. And remember, you will make mistakes — what matters most is that you learn from them and use those lessons to grow personally and professionally.”
