Greatest accomplishment and career path
“After completing my BS in Civil Engineering in Bangladesh, I pursued my MS in Project Management at Missouri State University. Since graduating, I’ve led construction projects by assisting Project Managers from start to finish, coordinating teams, managing contracts, and overseeing budgets and schedules. I’ve gained hands-on experience in cost analysis, takeoffs, and project performance tracking. I’m excited to transition into an Estimating Engineer role at this wonderful company soon, where I can combine my field experience with strategic pre-construction planning.“
How MSU equipped Sadia for her career
“MSU’s approach, strong faculty support, and practical exposure through coursework and projects gave me the foundation to tackle complex project management challenges in the construction industry. The program strengthened my technical, leadership, and communication skills, which I rely on daily at work.“
Advice for current students and recent graduates
“Stay curious and proactive. Seek opportunities to lead small projects or initiatives, volunteer for committees, and never underestimate the value of professional networking. Balancing technical knowledge with leadership and communication skills is key to success in construction and project management.“
