Drew Rogers graduated in 2013 with a Master of Social Work degree and the Graduate Certificate in Conflict and Dispute Resolution.

What is your current title or position?

I am a Staff Mediator with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Kansas City, Missouri.

What was the most useful or impactful thing you learned in the certificate program?

I found that different conflict styles play a role in every facet of our life. The certificate helped me understand how my conflict style affected work, home, and other parts of my life, and how best to integrate my style with the conflict styles of others.

How did your experience with the conflict certificate impact you getting a job or your job search?

It is actually the reason I found my career! Had I not enrolled in the Graduate Certificate, I would not have become aware of the unique career field I currently love and thrive in – mediation.

Why should someone consider enrolling in the certificate program? How might it benefit them?

The certificate is a multi-faceted program that will increase your knowledge base and help you discover new interests. It will also put you a step ahead of your peers in regards to your resume and how potential employers may view you. Think of it as another reason why an employer should hire you and not another candidate.
