University hosts Science Olympiad tournament

The College of Natural and Applied Sciences at Missouri State University hosted the Region VII Science Olympiad tournament on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Each Science Olympiad team was limited to 15 students with parents and teachers serving as the coaches. The teams completed in 24 different events trying to win individual medals (gold, silver and bronze).

More than 500 students, as well as many parents, teachers and coaches were present on campus that day to support their team.

Twenty-five middle school teams (Division B) competed and out of those teams, five were chosen to compete in the State Competition. Nineteen high school teams (Division C), competed and four of those teams were selected to compete in the State Competition. A list of all the tournament winners is on the Region VII Science Olympiad website.
