Everyone should be a little froggy

Faculty emeritus Dr. Thurman continues to value education today.

Even after leaving Missouri State University, CNAS physics and astronomy faculty emeritus Dr. Bob Thurman continues to have a voice in the community.

In a Letter to the Editor piece he submitted to the Springfield News-Leader, he outlines how one small game of leap-frog changed his perspective on today’s technology driven world. Thurman, former department head, writes, “It seems to me that the good feelings generated by such friendly and undignified competition might help defuse some of the hostility demonstrated by opposing sides of many contentious public issues.”

During his time at Missouri State, Thurman was passionate about educating future teachers and finding positive ways to use technology in the classroom.

Maybe we all should try leap-frog and see what we jump toward.
