Big questions in geography

Nine students got to present their findings at the Binghamton Symposium.

November 21, 2017 by Tori York

We, as humans, live on this Earth. Some even say we are the protectors of this Earth. One thing that the GGP department is trying to do is figure out the Earth.

The Binghamton Symposium, a three-day conference in San Marcos, Texas, is one of the best conferences for geomorphology, which is the study of landforms.

Dr. Bob Pavlowsky, distinguished professor of geography, took nine students to this conference Oct. 12-15.

“This conference offers a good chance for our students to get exposed to big questions in science that can influence how human beings view the world and explain it,” Pavlowsky said.
