The Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America was held Sept. 22-25 in Phoenix, Arizona.

The conference was huge, with more than 3,600 presentations and over 6,000 geoscientists.
Mickus was part of the committee to set the schedule of talks and other activities for the conference.
MSU was well represented, with more than 35 students, alumni and faculty in attendance.
Several students said they thought they may have found places to further their studies after graduation.
Gouzie and McKay were asked to do additional research for the National Parks Service.
In addition to the conference, many students used this opportunity to visit the Grand Canyon and attend a baseball game with the St. Louis Cardinals playing the Arizona Diamondbacks.
