The College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS) is excited to announce that Dr. Adam Wanekaya, professor of chemistry, has accepted the position of chemistry department head.

“Dr. Wanekaya has led a very productive research group since his arrival at Missouri State University in 2006. He has the skills needed to be successful — ethical leadership and cultural competence,” Dr. Tamera S. Jahnke, dean of CNAS, said.

Pending board approval, Wanekaya will start the position July 1.

“I am very excited for this opportunity. I look forward to continuing to work with faculty, instructors, staff, students and all stakeholders to take the chemistry department to the highest levels of excellence,” Wanekaya said.
