Many from the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS) at the graduate level took part in the 28th Annual Graduate Einhellig Interdisciplinary Forum (EIDF) May 1.
We would like to recognize those who won awards at the symposium for their exceptional work.

Forum participants from CNAS who received awards for their work include:
Outstanding Teaching Assistant
Megan Westwood, chemistry
“Many of my students will not end up majoring in chemistry, so I use examples of how the concepts relate to their field of study,” Westwood said. “I also discuss things in everyday life that can be explained by what they are learning in my class.”
Distinguished Teaching Assistant
Matthew So, biology
“Teaching has quickly become a passion of mine,” So said, “and Missouri State has given me the opportunity to practice and foster my teaching approach.”
Poster Recognition – Outstanding Presentations
CNAS recipients of recognition for outstanding posters include:
- Dane Wagner, chemistry
- Donald Wormington, geology
“It’s always wonderful when people come together to talk about science,” Wormington said, “and it feels great to be recognized by IEDF for my contributions to that conversation.”

“My research focuses on toxins that can be lethal to many pets and wildlife,” Kincaid said. “I’m grateful that EIDF allows me to share important information about where local areas of concern may be to prevent major outbreaks from occurring in Springfield.”

“My poster reflects our research in the MuSyC lab exploring how we can make smart homes smarter,” Chaudhari said. “My heartfelt thanks to EIDF for allowing us to showcase our work and initiatives.”
