To further explore the world of artificial intelligence (AI), the departments of mathematics and computer science will host two free lectures on the Missouri State University campus this month.
Thom Hutchison, senior manager for data science and artificial intelligence at Husch Blackwell, will speak to the university community Sept. 27.
These lectures are open to students, faculty and business professionals interested in understanding the profound impact of AI on business operations and strategies. No registration is necessary.
Generative AI: It’s Evolution, Architecture and Impacts in Data Science
To understand how AI is reshaping both business and the practice of data science, Hutchison will
- Discuss the history of AI.
- Look at real-world business applications leveraging generative AI.
- Discuss active research areas in large language model usage.
- Examine how careers in data science will change in the coming years.
The colloquium lecture is at 3 p.m. in Cheek Hall, Room 102.
Generative AI in Business: Mind as Middleware
Hutchison will explore the evolution, current applications and future implications of generative AI in the business landscape.
