Be kind. Be positive. Be strong. Be safe.
You can help a student
The Counseling Center is offering two one day training sessions on how faculty and staff can help to support students that might be struggling with mental health concerns. The attached flyer has more information including how you can register for one of the training sessions.
Student Assistance and Advising
Every day is a day to make a significant difference in retention of students. Maybe that is letting them know about extra help available – your office hours, Bear Claw or other resources. Maybe it is communicating the learning outcomes for the next exam in a way different from how you have done it in the past. Maybe it is just listening to them and helping them to find the resources they need on campus like the Bear Pantry.
It is also time for all of us to meet with our advisees and help them develop their plan for graduation and their immediate plan for classes in the spring of 2024. Please let the college office know if you have questions as you meet with your advisees.
