Alumna explores public affairs through dance

Sandra Paola Lopez Ramirez (BFA, 2008) will be among those presenters

Dancer travels the world to inspire others

Paola Lopez Ramirez is a dancer, teacher, activist and community organizer who has traveled throughout the U.S., Colombia, Brazil, Cyprus, France, Canada and Mexico to share her craft.

Exploring identity through dance, art, education

Her work — an intersection between art and personal experience — explores issues such as relationship, gender, race, identity, awareness, kinesthetic listening and touch.

She has taught widely in both formal and non-formal education settings including the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, and is currently a faculty member in the dance program at the University of Texas at El Paso. She has also presented at national and international conferences, including TEDx El Paso.

Time: 3:45 to 5:00 p.m.
Location: Plaster Student Union Theater
