Dig out your bell-bottoms and leisure suits for for this ’70s-themed party!

MSU students will be performing the rock musical “Hair” April 7-10.

Costumed block party part of ’70s event series

70s-experience-blog-feature-250x198The department of art and design has decided to go retro this semester with several events celebrating the 1970s, including this costumed block party, to be hosted on April 8 in Brick City’s south parking lot.

The block party is part of “The 70s Experience: Always Being Now”  event series, which has featured exhibitions, visiting artist workshops, performances, films and lectures throughout March and April.

The series also includes the theatre and dance production of “Hair.” Performances will run April 7-10 at Craig Hall’s Coger Theatre. For ticketing information, visit their website.

There will be free buttons available to everyone. We are also selling t-shirts, and our students will be selling artwork.

Want to come?

When: Friday April 8, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Brick City South Parking Lot
Who can come: It’s free and open to the public
Examples of what to wear: Fringe, headbands, peace signs, bell-bottoms, mini-skirts, go-go boots …. need we say more?
