The Ribbon Cutting celebration on September 17 officially opened the new space and celebrated the new unified home of art and design. The event’s featured speaker was Governor Jay Nixon. Governor Nixon was joined by other university officials during this celebration.
“We have dreamed about the day when everyone from the department of art and design could be located in one place and benefit from the creative spark that close proximity produces—and now that day is here. Many people contributed to helping make this dream come true, and we are grateful for that help,” said Gloria Galanes, dean of the College of Arts and Letters.
