Electronic arts/audio studies alum Gloria (Cohen) Shomo, ‘08, has been selected to receive the MSU Alumni Association’s 2013 Outstanding Young Alumni Award, and broadcast communications grad Barry Johnson, ’75, will be honored with the Association’s Outstanding Alumnus Award.
About the awards
The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes graduates 45 years of age or younger who have demonstrated extraordinary achievement in their personal and professional endeavors, and have brought honor to Missouri State University.
The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes recipients for extraordinary achievement in their personal and professional endeavors. Among the qualities considered are notable success in a profession or business, loyalty to the University and outstanding contributions to society.
Homecoming events
The COAL alums will be honored during the Bears of Distinction Homecoming Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Friday, October 18, at 6 p.m at the University Plaza Convention Center.
Gloria Cohen Shomo is also a featured speaker at the Master Filmmaker’s series during Homecoming weekend.
