Follow-up study explores job readiness

February 27, 2013 by

An article by Dr. Mary Jane Pardue, assistant head of the department of media, journalism and film, was accepted for publication by the “Journalism and Mass Communication Educator.” Her article, entitled “Most Business Editors Find Journalism Graduates Still Unprepared,” is a follow-up to a research study Pardue completed 10 years ago.

Her 2002 study focused on how well journalism programs were preparing graduating students to cover business news. Pardue repeated the survey of business editors in 2012 and found similar results with some slight improvement.
