After an internal search, Reynolds College Founding Dean Shawn Wahl has selected Dr. Jason Jolley as associate dean.
“Jason has focused much of his academic research on Spanish American literature, machine translation and language learning,” said Wahl. “I’m confident he has the right academic background and robust leadership experience to help lead the Reynolds College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities.”
Jolley’s background
Jolley has served as department head and professor in the Department of World Languages and Cultures for 12 years and part-time associate dean of the Reynolds College for four years.
He has a robust leadership record focused on the humanities, including service as founding codirector of the Foreign Language Institute since 2013 and Chair of the Central States Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, 2020-2022.
“I’m honored to be joining the leadership of the combined Reynolds College as an associate dean. I have worked with Dean Wahl for over a decade,” Jolley said. “And I’m really excited to work with him and the rest of the leadership team and faculty throughout the college to increase the visibility and impact of the arts, humanities, and social sciences here at Missouri State.”
Jolley holds a doctorate degree in Spanish from The Pennsylvania State University along with master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Spanish from Brigham Young University. He earned an associate’s degree in journalism from Brigham Young University – Idaho.
