Theatre and Dance presents, Metamorphosis: The 2012 Fall Dance Concert, showcasing diverse choreography by students of the Dance Composition III course.
Performances are scheduled at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, with one evening show on Friday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m., and two shows on Saturday Nov. 17, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
“Metamorphosis” features ten original choreographic works by junior and senior BFA dance majors and minors of Missouri State. The ten choreographers, Victoria Billington, Kristina Carter, Tashara Earl, Spencer Ernst, Madalyn Foley, Sarah Greenbaum, Melissa Huebner, Elizabeth Mach, Lauren Smith, and Kahrya Vaughn, as well as other Missouri State students, will perform.
Dance Composition III is the final course in a series of required choreography classes for BFA dance majors and minors. The students create a five to eight minute dance piece using their own original choreography and cast their pieces with fellow students, choose music, design lights or collaborate with a lighting designer, and assemble costumes for their dances. The choreographers collaborate to assemble their final showing, a formal concert for friends, family, and the public to enjoy.
